Pinnacle Runway Rose Garden Dress, Mimco Simple Math Pump.

My two favourite things combined gracefully into one setting, pink + florals. But the only thing more perfect then the pink petals in this divine arrangement of colombian roses, is the perfectly wrapped parcel that arrived at The Blonde Silhouette HQ from Pinnacle Runway.

Beneath the carefully wrapped layers of tissue paper and stiff satin ribboning, sat a beautiful rose printed dress, adding a little bloom to my afternoon. Instantly falling in love with the dramatic contrast of the pink roses against the dark background, a statement piece such as this would be a fabulous look for the upcoming festive season. At the risk of jumping the gun, I’m already starting to compile my favourite pieces for the celebratory season and in true Queensland fashion, I’m on the hunt for pieces that exude colour with a little party spirit. My simple math skills tell me that the combination of a 3/4 wrapped skirt + colourful print + cheeky sweetheart neckline, results in this dress ticking all the right boxes and for this reason sits right on top of my nice list! Think christmas cocktails at a tropical, rooftop bar…cheers!

Admittedly, I don’t have many strapless pieces in my wardrobe, for fear of their impractical nature and the possibility of experiencing a wardrobe malfunction. However, we fashionistas cannot trap ourselves in a predictable style bubble and as comfort dressing is so overrated, I was excited to show off this piece…and my bare shoulders!

I love the structure seen in the fit of the dress, combining a boned bodice with a relaxed, flowing skirt. Highlighting a smaller waist and creating some subtle curves, this piece paints a very flattering and feminine hourglass silhouette. In the wise words of Shania Twain, “I feel like a woman.”

Ladies, if you too are loving this Rose Garden Dress, then I encourage you to pop by the Pinnacle Runway website | Facebook | Instagram for a touch of light shopping. After all, we are 7 weeks out from Christmas and you never know when you will be invited to a fabulous occasion!

Quirky Circus by Mink Pink Dress, Scarletto’s Preston Heel, Tessa Crinoline Fascinator, Myer Miss Shop Belt, Fossil Georgia Watch, Swarovski Earrings.

Gearing up for Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup celebrations and this year I’m placing all my money on white…and I mean this in a strictly fashion sense of course.

In the last few years, my racewear routine has paid tribute to some striking colours and pastel combinations, from cotton candy pink to lemon sorbet, I wear colour proudly and matched perfectly from my headpiece to my stilettos. This year however, I’m going classic, with my Fashions on the Field ensemble highlighting elegance seen in a crisp white colour palette.

Almost as if we were magically destined to be together, this Quirky Circus quilted dress arrived on my doorstep, begging for a fancy occasion to be worn to. Simple in structure with clean lines and a fitted, feminine silhouette, this little frock goes a long way in terms of styling, with monochrome, metallic and neon offering potential accessory partners. With a new found adoration for warm coral tones and a statement pump, I’ve teamed this white feature with my Scarletto’s Preston Heel. After all, what is spring without a touch of pastel?

Tying in with the soft pink accents, I’m keeping my jewellery consistent by introducing rose gold metals, seen in a detailed Swarovski drop earring and a delicate watch from Fossil. With minimal jewellery, I’m placing the emphasis on my headpiece, which is also white and multi textured, highlighting a little glamour with a lace and feather arrangement. Just call me the new-age Audrey and I will answer!

Replacing the race track with the waterfront, Erin Smith Photography and I swapped champagne for Italian gelato and betting for girly gossip- perhaps not a very traditional setting for a Melbourne Cup celebration, but definitely an enjoyable spring afternoon! Keep up with our fashion adventures with a simple follow @theblondesilhouette @erinsmithphoto and enjoy the Spring Racing Carnival fashionistas!

French Connection Chambray Jumpsuit, Jo Mercer Erika Platforms, French Connection Fold Over Clutch, Tiffany & Co Circle Pendant, Le Specs Noddy Sunglasses (similar style here), Pandora Heart Ring, Tiffany & Co Stacked Rings.

Let’s be frank, there’s no other fabric as effortlessly cool as chambray. Often mistaken for denim and worn more frequently in the form of a relaxed button up, I’m super excited to add a unique chambray flavour to my wardrobe with this French Connection chambray jumpsuit, aka my idea of summer’s little one-piece.

Despite being a mix of cool and casual, I love how this piece remains completely feminine in form with a structured bodice, sweetheart neckline and relaxed pant. The lightweight nature of the chambray offers a breathable fabric perfect for those steamy Brisbane temperatures. Best accessorised with a chunky platform like these Jo Mercer Erika heels and splash of metallics, seen in a two tone belt, jewellery and foiled French Connection clutch, I’m taking over summer with some serious swag.

Not the usual hangout that’s for sure, but Erin Smith Photography and I love the juxtaposition of girly meets grunge and this forgotten, graffiti covered alleyway makes the perfect backdrop. Capturing a summer that’s nothing if not imaginative….

St Frock Supernova Swing Dress, Jo Mercer Devious Heels, Marcs Handbag (similar style here), Sportsgirl Belt (similar style here).

Some mornings I wake up and dress myself according to my mood. Today I’m feeling bright, bubbly and exploding with energy, so naturally I gravitate toward a vivid lemon, black and white floral pattern, replicating the perfect sunny weather awaiting outside for me. So I’m wearing my inner aura on my…sleeve whilst showing off the summer themed new arrivals from St Frock! Ps, this dress is named Supernova- rather fitting isn’t it!

If I wasn’t immediately sold by the whimsical nature of the floral print, then this structured swing skirt would be a close second, as I am loving the playful movement of this silhouette!  And while we are on the topic of playfulness, this flirty shade of lipstick, Candy Yum-Yum by Mac is really just as much a treat for the eyes as it is for the lips! Too bad it’s not edible!

With a pair of platforms so comfy they should be called air walker, I’m in full flight, powering through my errands and window shopping (with the occasional sneaky purchase!) Photographer in tow, Erin Smith Photography and I are in search of some bright coloured locations to contrast against our sunny colour palette. Swapping our usual bright red wall for something a little cooler, this deep blue backdrop definitely has our attention. For now, you’ll find us chilling!
