We’ve had some very steamy days here in sunny Queensland and as I see regrams of #NYFW #streetstyle dominate my feed I can’t help but feel super envious of the winter fashion trends circulating, and the cooler temperatures! That was until I received my St Frock Swing Dress which has become the perfect summer staple for three different reasons.

Firstly, the combination of the lightweight fabric and floaty structure make this piece summer friendly, especially on those 36 degree days.

Secondly, I find ivory to be a refreshing colour, especially when paired with a colour blocking feature. Here I have teamed the subtle ivory with a pop of lime, seen in my stilettos, and a dash of crimson lipstick.

Thirdly, given the simplicity of the form and colour, this piece becomes highly versatile, providing the foundation to many different looks. For me, versatility is very important and is one of my evaluation criteras when purchasing fashion goodies. It’s great to find a fabulous print, but am I going to be able to style it multiple times and get the most bang for my buck? Chances are no! But a simple shift has the potential to be transformed- check out how I did this with my recent Queen of Hearts look.

Dark Side.

After an eternity of neons, pastels and prints, I have crossed over to the Dark Side. Favouring a black on black colour palette, I’m lusting after this chic crop and skirt combination. Normally, I’m rather conservative in my personal style, however teaming this mid thigh split midi skirt with the structured, scalloped edge crop is both alluring and sophisticated. A touch of black lace seen in the perfect Choo and lace bra detailing recaptures femininity with an edge, sweet yet sinful.

It comes at no surprise that there is much mixed emotion surrounding Valentines Day. Some people love to love it, others love to hate it and those that fall into neither category decide annually depending on their current relationship status. Being a single lady, I look forward to celebrating Valentines Day by spoiling myself- and no, I don’t mean by overindulging in Macaroons and sending myself flowers….. despite how delicious that does sound.

I never thought I would say this, but this year I’m staying clear of the cliches: goodbye pink, red, pastels and candy hearts. Instead, I’ll be styling a chic, minimalist ensemble, teaming an ivory sheer dress with a monochromatic print. Forget Teddy Bears and other plush animals, there’s nothing more adorable then this St Frock Christopher Blouse in heart print- certainly fitting for the occasion, don’t you agree?

Paradise Print.

St Frock Sweet Bouquet Dress, Jo Mercer Marisol Heels, PeepToe ring, Lovisa Earrings.

The sun may have set on my summer holidays, but the paradise print of the St Frock Sweet Bouquet Dress has me feeling very relaxed in the colourful surroundings of West End, Brisbane. Rather then teaming the bright print with a nude heel, I’ve opted for a bright canary yellow to lift the print and enhance the yellow gold tones seen in the jewellery.

Two photographers, three lenses, mighty wind and many Marilyn moments later, I feel as though I’m somewhere between the yellow brick road and a candy shop! With a little hope, it’s just as sweet!
