Walking the red carpet in dreamy couture sounds pretty spectacular to us aspiring fashionista’s, but for the starlets, it’s just another day, another stretch of carpet. Just like years gone by, I find myself excited to see my favourite A-Listers arrive in style, and glimpse their custom couture for the first time. Here I present, my Oscars 2016 Best Dressed List, featuring only the most fabulous frocks (or in Lady Gaga’s case, jumpsuit!)
Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell
If there’s one person that continues to shock me with her undeniable style revolution, it’s Lady Gaga. Looking incredibly chic in her structured Brandon Maxwell jumpsuit, Lady Gaga hits all the right notes on and off the red carpet.
Dorith Mous in Dennis Diem
Dorith Mous strikes the perfect balance between elegant and edgy in her striking Dennis Diem gown. From the sophisticated high neck and lace bodice, to the full bodied tulle skirt, we can all agree that this particularly frock would outdo Cinderella’s custom creation. Glass slippers and all!
Rooney Mara in Versace
Looking dangerously angelic in a ornate, lace Versace gown, Rooney Mara made a stunning debut on the red carpet. Of course her sleek updo and bold kisser did not go unnoticed, creating a gorgeous contrast against her ivory gown.
Olivia Wilde in Valentino
Featuring a stunning low neckline and dreamy pleated skirt, Olivia Wilde was a vision in her Valentino couture. Her braided updo and minimalist makeup complemented this gown perfectly, while her jewelled clutch became the envy of every handbag enthusiast. Seriously, this is a need not want situation!
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
Proof that this beauty can do no wrong on the red carpet, JLaw looks like Hollywood royalty in layers of lace and tulle, seen in her Dior Haute Couture. Sporting a sleek platinum bob and chic makeup, she totally nails old Hollywood glam!
