Surprisingly, this little Brisbanite doesn’t get down to the Gold Coast very often, but when she does, you can bet she’ll make a sneaky visit to Harbour Town. I had a fabulous day amongst the racks of my favourite Harbour Town hotspots including, Furla, Michael Kors, Seed Heritage, Review and Portmans. I walked away delighted with this super feminine Cue In The City number, comprising of a sketched floral print, structured silhouette and playful, pleated skirt. What I love about this piece is that it’s perfect for corporate life, teamed with patent pumps, or can be dressed up with a pair of stilettos.

I’m really feeling rose gold tones at the moment, opting for some sparkle from my favourite jewellery brand, Pandora. My favourite piece happens to be the Signature Ring – that statement pavé feature is nothing short of spectacular. A final touch of luxe is seen in my personalised pouch and phone case from The Daily Edited. O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D.

The streets of Brisbane are rampant with stylish, fashionistas as the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival (or MBFF) kicks off at the iconic Old Government House. Understandably, it can be difficult to stand out amongst such a stylish crew, so add a new spin on a timeless trend – the all black ensemble. Presenting a how to guide, to making all black outfits striking!

1. Start with a strong silhouette, featuring clean lines and crisp finishes, like this Ted Baker Collared Jumpsuit. It’s perfectly structured with it’s plunging collar, belted waist and tapered pants. My favourite feature? The rose gold hardware.

2. Don’t underestimate the power of a jacket! Whilst often layering can overshadow a fabulous piece, the right jacket can make the look. I found this spectacular, embellished jacket while trawling through a high end, vintage boutique and immediately fell in love. This garment adds the right amount of texture and sparkle to enhance an all black outfit.

3. Make your choice of accessories pop! A combination of rose gold accessories instantly lifts an all black colour palette, adding warmth to the outfit. I’ve maximised my use of metallics, opting for luxe, rose gold jewellery, a statement cross body bag and finishing with the same shade of metallic heels.

4. Keep the emphasis on your outfit, with sleek hair and makeup. Think a chic, slicked updo, like this nape of the neck knot and ensure all fly aways are maintained. As for makeup, I love the sophistication of an earthy, smokey eye, paired back with a matte, nude lip. Perfection!

How do you approach the timeless trend of all black outfits? I’de love to hear your tips and tricks in the comments below! Stay tuned to see some serious MBFF fashion in the next post!

Ted Baker Kikiie Wrap Coat, St Frock Abbey Dress, Wittner Ebbony Boot, The Daily Edited Clutch, Pandora Sparkling Love Knot Ring & EarringsPandora Braided Pave Ring, Pandora Sparkling Bow Ring, Pandora Moments Bangle With Rose Gold Clasp with Rose Gold Charms, Karen Walker Super Duper Strength Sunglasses.

I’m channelling International Woman of Mystery vibes, in my luxurious Ted Baker trench coat – otherwise a fine, winter masterpiece. I was absolutely delighted upon unwrapping this gorgeous cashmere blend, noting the precision quality throughout the make and admiring the rich camel hue.

I feel like this piece was made just for me, as it features my favourite characteristics in a garment: high neckline, cinched waist detail and gold hardware. It creates a strong visual statement with it’s sophisticated and structured silhouette and layers effortlessly against a shift dress such as this St Frock number. If you are yet to invest in a trench coat, then I recommend paying Ted Baker a visit, as their selection of coats are in one word, exquisite!

I’m teaming my chic spy girl getup with a pair of suede boots, the ultimate winter staple. After all, there’s no other choice in footwear for frolics through the forest. Adding the final mystery to my #ootd are my old faithful Karen Walker shades. Proving to be the best frames I ever purchased, I am reminded that nothing says timeless like tortoiseshell.
