Lady Primrose

So here’s a little secret, I don’t separate my wardrobe by seasons. Ok, so it’s not a particularly juicy secret, but it happens to be true. Reason? Because I believe just about any item of clothing can be transitional and transeasonal. Take this floral St Frock number. Add one denim jacket and a pair of ankle boots (or heels in my case) and voila, the perfect outfit for the Australian winter season.

As a lover of florals, it is no surprise that I was drawn to this adorable three piece Primrose motif, exclusive to Pandora. Did you know that the Primrose is the earliest flower to emerge in Europe’s spring? The name Primrose is derived from the latin “prima rosa”, meaning first rose – how romantic! I’m not usually one to wear matching jewellery, but upon seeing the dainty pendant, ring and earrings, I just knew I had to snap up the set! Seeing these pieces styled, I love the consistency of the Primrose theme, along with the delicacy of these pieces, which certainly compliments the busy floral print. Check out these gorgeous pieces and more, at the Pandora website and follow this gorgeous label on Facebook and Instagram for more behind the scenes bling.

Napoleon Perdis Super Lips Lipstick in Destiny – available July 6th.

For me, a new shade of lipstick sends a wave of excitement and possibility. I’m suddenly equipped to conquer the world, all the while showing off my most feminine side and fabulous pout. So you can only imagine my delight, hearing that my lips are among the lucky few to experience the NEW Napoleon Perdis Super Lips lipstick range, before their official release on July 6th. Major? You know it!

My little Napoleon Perdis parcel arrives at The Blonde Silhouette HQ, (handwritten I might add) and upon opening this little goodie bag, I fall instantly in love with the shiny, liquid gold casing of this glamourous new lipstick range. There’s no doubt it, I would feel fabulous carrying this little treasure around in my makeup pouch, making my beauty refresh just that little bit special.

Now let’s talk deets…

The Colour:

Before revealing the mysterious shade instead, I like to guess the colour based on the name of the lipstick. Destiny, I thought would either be a romantic shade of pink or a playful crimson, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a rich and delicious, berry shade, ready to take my kisser from sweet to sultry in one application…I guess when you think about it, it really was Destiny to land the perfect winter colour!

New to the bold lips game? I suggest teaming this shade with a shimmery, metallic or an earthy bronzed eyeshadow and finish with a heavy coating of mascara. On the other hand, if you love a more dramatic look, I recommend pairing your statement pout with a signature winged eyeliner.

The Finish:

What I LOVE about the new Napoleon Perdis Super Lips range (aside from its killer shade), is the hydrating formula and satin finish. Made from a base of mineral pigments, enriched with Vitamin E, this lipstick protects your lips from environmental forces, while locking in moisture to ensure your lips are left supple and plump.

The Wear:

Due to the silicone elastomers and waxes in the formula, this lipstick glides effortlessly across the lips, allowing for smooth application – so if your a gal on the go, this is the lipstick for you!

I was also very impressed by the longevity of this shade, heading straight out after this shoot, I ate dinner with my girlfriends, who commented on my lipstick remaining perfectly intact post meal. Ladies, like their packaging these lippies are GOLD!

Keep your eye out for the official release of the Napoleon Perdis Super Lips Lipstick range July 6th, available at Napoleon Perdis Concept Stores, David Jones and Myer Concessions, selected pharmacies and salons throughout Australia. Beauty Unveiled: The China Doll

TBS Newstead-54

TBS Newstead-56

TBS Newstead-8

There was once a time I never went a week without a spray tan. In fact the thought of going out of a weekend without one absolutely terrified me. It wasn’t until two years ago when I started exploring the world of fashion, that I found a new adoration for porcelain skin. Fair skin offers a very classic beauty trend and looks fabulous against a bold, red lip. Of course there are influential beauty icons like Cate Blanchett and Nicole Kidman who are admired for their milky complexions…after all, if a fair complexion can entice Keith Urban, then call me a porcelain doll!

Embracing my fair skin, I’m creating a very porcelain doll inspired beauty look, comprised of a matte porcelain coverage, angelic eyes and a soft pink pout. *Note when it comes to beauty I’m definitely a high maintenance kind of gal, so if your looking for a 5 minute makeup lesson, this probably isn’t the look for you!

Step One: Apply The Base!

Starting with a pea sized amount of Etude House BB Cream, I spread an even coverage over my face. I then use my Napoleon Foundation Stick (Look 2), to go over the light layer of BB Cream. A beige-pink concealer targets troubled areas like my chin, nose and the dark areas under my eyes. As I prefer a matte finish, I lightly dust my Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish Powder over my foundation to seal the coverage.

Step Two: Define those Cheekbones!

Next, I use a contour palette to add a little depth (and instant cheekbones!). Starting with a shimmering highlighter, I lightly dust just above the checkbone, the bridge of my nose, my chin and middle forehead. Using the darker contouring colour, I highlight right on the check bone, blending thoroughly to avoid obvious lines. Using the smile technique, I brush a light, rosy pink blush over the apples of my cheeks.

Step Three: Enhance the Brows!

After combing my brows into place, I lightly pencil in the gaps with my Napoleon Perdis Eyebrow Pencil. With a super easy application and no sharpening required, this product is the definition of low maintenance and creates envy worthy brows. To enhance the arched shape, I apply a shimmery, pearl eye shadow just underneath the brow bone for extra oomph!

Step Four: Flirty Flicks!

When it comes to eyeliner, I always use a combination of liquid and gel to achieve that flirty, cat-eye flick. First I’ll apply my Napoleon Liquid Eyeliner along my lash line as a base and finish with the Napoleon China Doll Gel Eyeliner, as I find the creamy, smooth texture allows for control and intricate detailing. After coating my lashes in a volumised mascara like Maybelline’s The Colossal, I apply a strip of flirty, thick Napoleon Perdis Lashes, to emphasise my peepers.

Step Five: Pose and pout!

For a perfect pout, I start by outlining my lip line with a soft pink pencil, like Napoleon Perdis’s Pink Slip. Next I apply my lipstick to the plump part of my lips, avoiding the edges to minimise bleeding. After blotting the excess, I finish with a extra shiny lipgloss. Kiss kiss!
