I’m wearing: Stella McCartney Dress, Jo Mercer Tanessa Heels.

The Brisbane Designer Fashion Show has been circled in my calendar for months and the lead up to it was nothing short of fabulous! Receiving my VIP front row tickets and finding I would be sitting with two lovely Brisbane bloggers, Yolanda from BNEstyle and Amber from Fashion Avenue, I knew we three would have a fabulous time pointing out our  favourite runway pieces and favourite fashion faux pas. I have to say, I was super impressed with the line up of emerging and established Australian designers; from glittering sequinned masterpieces to bold, structured staples, I left the event with a new found inspiration and an extensive fashion wish list…Lucky Christmas is just around the corner. Presenting my favourite pieces from the Brisbane Designer Fashion Show 2013.

Bless’ed Are The Meek Nomad Dress from The Gallery Boutique, Louis Vuitton Concorde Handbag, Jo Mercer Reno Heels, Miansai Rose Gold Anchor, Lovisa Necklace and Earrings, Sportsgirl Mistress Sunglasses.

Red brick buildings, busy sidewalks and secretive alleyways- it certainly feels very “Manhattan” in Tenerife! With perfect weather and a new dress and handbag to celebrate, I strolled the streets of Tenerife with the very talented Erin Smith Photography, snapping my every move like a true paparazzi. With an eye for detail and excitement for bold, red features, she transformed the trendy Brisbane hotspot into an Upper-East Side setting- spotting the most amazing backgrounds on location. While specialising in wedding photography, Erin’s perspective on the fashion landscape is refreshing, highly chic and well, fabulous! Check out her beautiful portfolio featured on her website and Facebook page and insta-stalk her, @erineopso. We had so much fun scouting, giggling and sex-and-the-city reminiscing, all that seemed to be missing were the cosmos!

Welcome to day 4 of MBFF Brisbane, where the Brisbane blogger fash pack; Aicha from The Fashion Heist, Yolanda from BNEStyle and I attended the Designer Group Show. My highlights from the runway included the Chuck Bass inspired menswear by Will Valor, the colour blocking 60’s influence of Alexis Dawn and the magnificent and decadent evening gowns by Paul Hunt.

Proving we certainly picked the prime show to attend, we were surrounded by some very fashionable celebrities including Jake Harrison from My Kitchen Rules, Mandy from Fashion One and Napoleon Perdis himself.  Feeling a little bit starstruck, I wasted no time snapping some quick pics, paparazzi style.

Playsuit by day…and night

When it comes to daily style, I am a big time visual organiser…. simply meaning I spend countless hours outfit prepping and creating mood boards for my soon to be purchases. The positive of this hyper-organised behaviour is that I get to experiment with the versatility of a piece, and being a uni student on a strict budget, versatility for me is priority.  If you follow my Polyvore activities, you will notice my obsession with playsuits as a spring/summer staple. While cute and girly in nature, they serve many purposes being highly practical to wear and weather appropriate for the hot summers QLD fashionistas experience. If that wasn’t enough reason to win you over, playsuits are also highly versatile pieces doubling as day and night looks. I am currently loving the selection of playsuits in Motel’s SS 13/14 collection. From bold graphic prints to neon block colours, Motel have a playsuit to suit the style of any fashionista.

In the day..

Playsuit Blues

Motel Hoppy PlaysuitLipstick Fishermann Sandals, Lovely Bird Floppy Hat, Karen Walker Super Duper Strength Eyewear, Fossil Marlow Shoulder Bag, Ichu Jewellery Personalised Bangles,  Ichu Jewellery Open Diamond Ring.

Graphic print + sandals + a splash of silver + a big floppy hat = the ideal summer loving look! Pack a yummy lunch and some fresh fruit and enjoy a day in the sun before visiting the local vintage/designer markets.

In the night…

Pink Playsuit

Motel Janna Playsuit, Molten Store Future Bright Clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti Alien Bullet SandalsSass & Bide Defying Convention Belt, Grace and Scarper Star Ring, Grace and Scarper Heart RingLimecrime Centrifuchsia LipstickEylure Katy Perry Sweetie Pie Lashes.

For girls night out why not make a statement with bright neon colour blocking. Combine with an edgy black heel, stacked gold accessories, a bold lip and an espresso martini. Cheers to being young and beautiful…let’s celebrate together in style!
