The Diva’s Wardrobe
What happens when 26 Brisbane fashionista’s come together to sell off their pre-loved designer possessions? They form an event like no other, known as The Diva’s Wardrobe. The hostess with the most-amazing nail polish collection, Diva Natalie from Fashionista Events, transformed the Waterloo Hotel bistro area into an impressive fashion showroom, showcasing the individual collections of the fellow fashion A-listers. Stepping inside the room was like stepping through the door of Kansas to Munchkin Land, only that it was filled with a colourful assortment of unique Josh Goot pieces, vintage prints and every silk, satin, sequin and leather fabric you could think of! Am I missing anything…oh yes, not a munchkin in sight, only gorgeous fashionistas!
Upon first hearing about the event, my credit card was out and ready for it’s big day. After all, it’s not every day that one gets to rummage through the personal wardrobes of celebrated fashionistas and celebrity style icons. What other occasion would present the opportunity to stalk through Margaux Parker’s go-to pieces and replicate Liz Golding’s killer style?

MSIT’s Synergy Creative Showcase
I will be the first to admit, that I am surrounded on a daily basis, by people who truly inspire me with their talents, intelligence and creativity. One of which is my good friend and fellow blogger, Lauren Oliver, who otherwise is referred to in the blogging world as, The Fringe. For those who have checked out her blog will know that Lauren is now a graduate Fashion Designer from MSIT, Brisbane. Her final collection which highlights pastel knits and luxe leather textures featured in last night’s MSIT Synergy Creative Showcase. I was luckily enough to join Lauren front row and watch her beautiful pieces come to life on the catwalk; an unforgettable moment in which I was jealous and at the same time, amazed at this talented chic sitting next to me. From Avant-Garde to lingerie collections, the students of MSIT created a fashion runway spectacular! While there were so many designs I loved, here are some snaps of my favourite pieces.
Lauren’s Graduation Collection

Luxe leather and vibrant florals is not a combination one would normally expect to see together, however, as a stylist I love experimenting with the juxtaposition of different styles. When it comes to styling floral, common looks include feminine and girly and perhaps even preppy- but I ask you fashionistas, can floral transcend to an edgy look?
This winter, my leather Sportsgirl leggings have been my staple piece, exploring the inner outings of Brisbane and most importantly keeping me on trend and warm! Generally, this piece becomes the statement within a minimalist ensemble, but in this look they become more of a palette to team with a warm floral pattern, adding excitement and drama to the look. At the same time, the matte leather panels in the leggings tone down the florals, giving a less feminine feel and maintaining a rockchic-esque attitude.
As a final touch, an apricot blazer is added providing a touch of neutral hue within the ensemble and doubling as a common foundation for the blacks and bright colours. Not only do I love the soft pastel colour of this blazer, but I find this shade to be a very flattering colour against fair skin. You will also notice, this colour is mirrored in the accessories, seen in my gorgeous MIANSAI rose gold anchor bracelet, fixed upon natural leather.
