It seems Erin Smith Photography and I brought the rain and overcast weather to West End, as we swapped sunshine for shelter, and the West End Library offers a very picturesque backdrop. While there was no singing in the rain, these clear umbrellas certainly were a cute accessory.

Secretly, I think we all knew Alicia Silverstone was onto something when she started sporting tartan in Clueless. Now 19 years on, fashions’ cyclic nature has brought plaid back on trend and I’m totally jumping on board the preppy, schoolgirl bandwagon. Seriously.

Welcoming the first weekend of 2014 in a cheerful shade of daisy yellow- is there any other way? This year I’m making a resolution to add more vibrant colour to my wardrobe and experiment with new lengths and textures. Generally speaking, I’m not one to wear maxis’ as they tend to swamp my small frame, making me appear even shorter then I actually am and let’s face it, excess fabric can be impractical and well…annoying! However, I love the detailing of this Wish maxi skirt, not to mention it sits lovely on the waist, creating a very flattering figure. Style Tip: Given the style, I would naturally pair this skirt with a sheer top, tucked in to create shape. Add some gold statement jewellery and a timeless clutch for a dressy occasion: beach wedding, birthday brunch etc, or otherwise a cute crop and felt hat would create the perfect look for a visit to the local designer markets.
