I’m having a flared sleeve affair with this gorgeous St Frock Wild Lover Dress! Not only am I loving the movement and volume seen in the flared sleeves…(which I will admit is perfect for some light hearted dancing), but the vibrant floral print and mini length lends itself to a gorgeous 70’s bohemian style…GROOVY!

If I was to really get into the 70’s spirit, I might team this number with a pair of platforms, of which I have many, given my 3 year retail stint in high end footwear. However, it’s still winter in Australia and a pair of ankle booties just screams luxe boho! I picked up these gorgeous tan leather heeled boots from Jo Mercer and I must say they have been an excellent investment shoe this season. I also notice Shopbop has an amazing selection of booties available in high quality leathers, suedes and nubuck. Just quietly these Sam Edelman Belinda Suede Fringe Booties are sitting at the top of my wish list and are about to give my credit card a workout…you feeling me girls?

You may notice, I’ve become a bit of sunglass fiend, but since I’ve discovered Royal Aquamarine eyewear, I cannot resist snapping up some frames. This particular pair I am sporting, feature a luxury tortoiseshell, vintage style frame which are supposedly super flattering for those like me with heart shaped faces. Love them as much as I do? Ready, Set, Ibuki!

There’s nothing more fashion forward than healthy, glowing skin and as I’ve come to find, it’s not quite as simple as a quick cleanse, tone and moisturise – it’s about investing in the right products! From a young age, preteens to be exact, my mother taught me about the importance of good quality skincare products and introduced me to Shiseido.

When it comes to my skin, I can identify with all the usual skin concerns, combination skin, oily t-zone, breakouts and dry areas, but my main concern has always been sensitivity, as my skin reacts to harsh formulas, waxing and of course, the change of season. What I’ve found in Shiseido’s Ibuki range, is that it’s formula is super gentle and nourishing, leaving my skin feeling supple, hydrated and rejuvenated. Aiming to bring dull skin back to live, Shiseido’s Ibuki formula builds a strong tolerance against UV rays, dryness and daily stress, along with breakouts, visible pores and roughness.

So here’s how it works!

Step 1: Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse

Remove eye makeup and lipstick residue with a few drops of Shiseido’s Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover on a cotton pad. This little product combats those long lasting lip stains and waterproof mascara without leaving oily secretions on your skin. Next, it’s time to cleanse. I definitely recommend both the Purifying or Gentle Cleanser, but find the Gentle Cleanser more compatible with my skin type. What I love about Shiseido’s cleansers, is that you only have to use a small amount to cleanse your skin of daily toxins and makeup. I find myself using a pea sized drop mixed with a few beads of water for a generous lather. If I’m wearing particularly heavy makeup for a shoot or a special occasion, I’ll repeat this step, but generally once is enough to leave my skin looking clean and hydrated.

Step 2: Soften & Moisturise

I like to think of Shiseido’s Softener as a primer to help prep my skin for a softer feel and a deeper penetration of the moisturiser that follows. According to Shiseido’s research, this formula helps strengthen skin to resist problems. For daywear, I use the Protective Moisturiser with it’s SPF15 formula, perfect for those scorching Queensland summers. The Refining Moisturiser is my night moisturiser as it renews the surface of skin, targets fine lines and leaves skin feeling dewy, rich and moist.

Step 3: Age Defence & Correcting

It might sound premature, but I’m concerned with my skin ageing quickly, given that it is so fair and susceptible to sun damage. In the last year, I’ve been switched onto Ultimune, Shiseido’s tested, age defence formula designed to stunt ageing and keep skin looking youthful and radiant. Applied directly after moisturising in the morning, Ultimune recharges skin with its soft, supple serum. Don’t be afraid to apply a little pressure with a massage, to really activate the formula and target stressed areas like your frown line, forehead, crows feet and the fleshy party of your cheeks. Lastly, target darker circles, wrinkles and puffy eyes with Shiseido’s Bio-Performance Super Corrective Eye Cream. Having used corrective eye creams from other brands in the past, I’ve experienced the worst, including sensitivity, inflammation and irritations, but with Shiseido’s gentle formula, my eye areas look refreshed, hydrated and lifted.

Skater Girl!

St Frock After Dark Dress, Jo Mercer Alona Croc Boots, Swarovski Earrings (similar style here).

I’m feeling particularly playful in my new St Frock skater dress, though I’ll leave the 360 Flip to the professionals!

This aztec print is a new one for me, but I’m loving the depth of this pattern, which is enhanced by a monochrome colour palette. I don’t know about you, but I associate this print with a festival inspired getup, so fittingly I opt for an ankle boot to rock my way through this grungy shoot!

Originally I thought a quirky top knot would be my hairstyle of choice to show off the high neckline, but a soft curl really suits the casual nature of this look.

I’m keeping the accessories to a minimum with the exception of this Swarovski drop earrings, (although they are barely visible under my blonde mane), as I really want this print to do the talking. Because let’s be honest, a bold dress speaks volumes!

How To: Style The ‘Casual Corporate Look’

‘Casual Fridays’ have just become a thing in my office (yay!) and last friday I had the difficult task of teaming together a casual look, appropriate for a corporate office. I know it’s not rocket science, but it’s hard to get a balance between model off duty and professional chic right in one go.

This little style challenge got me thinking about other lady bosses that work in a more relaxed, corporate environment and the dress codes that fusion together casual + chic. What does one’s wardrobe consist more of: jeans or slacks? Pumps or points? Cuffs or sophisticated wrist wear?

I’m starting my prep early and pulling out a pair of culottes, as they have a great relaxed shape perfect for Casual Friday’s. Because I wear a darker palette during the week, I’ll interchange black with pink, in the form of a silky, oversized shirt, layered with a faux fur vest like this one from French Connection. In any other day you’ll see me in a point stiletto, but this Friday I’m going for a more casual heel in a neutral taupe colour. Add one flesh tote, a sprinkle of rose gold jewellery, a nude matte lippy and I mean business (even in my casuals).

Do:

1. Choose luxe fabrics! Think sheer, silk, crepe and cotton in relaxed styles.

2. Consider footwear, why not opt for a thicker block/stacked heel or ankle boots.

3. Add texture, a faux fur vest adds a little glam to a work day.

Dont:

1. Expose yourself. No one wants to see your midriff, thighs or side boob, keep it classy especially if you work with gents.

2. Wear thongs, crocs or any type of hideous flats that will label you as the office dag.

3. Pull out the skin tight, skinny denim or bodycon styles. It’s not a drinking sesh and you’ll want to leave a little left to the imagination with the colleagues.
