“alt=Cloud Nine Original Hair Iron”

Cloud Nine Original Iron Set.

If there’s one hair trend that I can’t get enough of, it’s the refined look of sleek, straight hair. Highlighting cascading length and silky smooth texture, straight hair has an underlying #girlboss feel, as a #girlboss has no time for unnecessary frizz. Feelin’ me fashionistas? *Insert praise emoji*

When it comes to mastering perfectly straight hair, I use my Cloud Nine Original Iron as my weapon of choice. Having mid length hair (enhanced by lengthy extensions for volume), I find the Original Iron to be very compatible to my hair type. In the past I have always been concerned about the damage caused by heat styling tools to my fine, fragile locks. I’ve watched (in horror) as my hair has incurred breakage and dehydration, and loose it’s healthy glow. But switching to the Cloud Nine technology has totally changed the way I feel about hair irons. What I love about this technology, is the temperature control settings that allow me to reduce the heat emitted. Featuring five temperature settings, I find myself using the lowest temperature when styling my natural hair, and increasing the temperature throughout the ends of my extensions for that crisp, sharp finish. What I notice about my hair post styling, is how it retains a beautiful and healthy shine, along with it’s soft, silky texture. Gone are the days of crunchy, dry hair strands created with poor quality tools.

As for the process, it’s the quickest way to achieving serious #hairenvy. While I wait for my Cloud Nine Original Iron to heat up (which takes literally seconds), I start with a light mist of heat protective spray throughout the mid-ends and give a quick tousle.  Sectioning layer by layer, I glide my iron through my hair, refraining from ironing my roots. I spend a little extra time framing the layers around my face for a more polished look, and ensure my centre part falls naturally. Finally, I tuck my shorter layers behind my ears for that super sleek do. Instant #hairgoals!

Ladies if you are looking to upgrade your styling equipment, then I recommend checking out the Cloud Nine Range and snapping up a new Cloud Nine Iron. You and your hair will thank me later! x

Lips, Cheeks & Peepers: Summer Makeup Edit

summer_makeup_products

summer_makeup_products

If there’s one thing I love about summer beauty, it’s achieving that healthy, shimmery glow! I’ve been doing some legit “makeup research” by experimenting with a new beauty routine and adding new, exciting products to my makeup kit! Whether you are after the perfect sun kissed bronzer, or a pink lippy that pops, here’s a bunch of summer makeup products you simply NEED!

For Eyes

Prepare to see a return of the shimmer! I’ve developed a bit of a metallic quad obsession, highlighting shimmery nudes, pastels and charcoals. With the rise in nude lip looks, I’de recommend putting a little more emphasis on the peepers with a classic, shimmery, smokey eye. You’ll see me blending:

Scout Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadow; Ice Baby, & Becca Ultimate Eye Colour Quad; Night Star.

For Lips

I never thought I’de say this, but I’m really into the whole Kylie Jenner nude lip, so much so that I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick to enhance my fair skin. I’m officially calling of the search party because I’ve found the most flattering pink-base nude lippy from Stefan. *Insert praise emoji*

Of course, I haven’t forgotten my signature colour – pink, and I’ve added two new shades to the collection, with a slick gloss and lip shine!

Becca Ultimate Colour Gloss; Flamingo Crush, Dusty Girls Argyle Pink Mineral Lip Shine, Stefan Professional Lipstick; Nude.

For Cheeks

Now that I’ve mastered the contour and illuminating process, I’m concentrating on the apples of my cheeks, favouring warm terracotta bronzers and soft, subtle blushes, to get that glow! Check out my favourite mouses, powders, and shimmers below! For more fabulous makeup essentials check out the entire Becca collection available at Adore Beauty.

Dusty Girls Sunshine Natural Mineral Bronzer, Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle; Watermelon/Moonstone, Sigma Blush; Mellow & Peaceful.

Of course the finesse of your makeup application is only improved by using good quality tools, so naturally I’m showing off these beautiful brushes by Sigma Beauty. Not only do they come in a vibrant shade of pink but they hold the product beautifully and are so soft against my skin. Check out the Sigma Beauty Color Pop Brush Kit and transform your beauty routine!

Ready, Set, Ibuki!

There’s nothing more fashion forward than healthy, glowing skin and as I’ve come to find, it’s not quite as simple as a quick cleanse, tone and moisturise – it’s about investing in the right products! From a young age, preteens to be exact, my mother taught me about the importance of good quality skincare products and introduced me to Shiseido.

When it comes to my skin, I can identify with all the usual skin concerns, combination skin, oily t-zone, breakouts and dry areas, but my main concern has always been sensitivity, as my skin reacts to harsh formulas, waxing and of course, the change of season. What I’ve found in Shiseido’s Ibuki range, is that it’s formula is super gentle and nourishing, leaving my skin feeling supple, hydrated and rejuvenated. Aiming to bring dull skin back to live, Shiseido’s Ibuki formula builds a strong tolerance against UV rays, dryness and daily stress, along with breakouts, visible pores and roughness.

So here’s how it works!

Step 1: Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse

11850964_10154144609205616_1203169851_n

Remove eye makeup and lipstick residue with a few drops of  Shiseido’s Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover on a cotton pad. This little product combats those long lasting lip stains and waterproof mascara without leaving oily secretions on your skin. Next, it’s time to cleanse. I definitely recommend both the Purifying or Gentle Cleanser, but find the Gentle Cleanser more compatible with my skin type. What I love about Shiseido’s cleansers, is that you only have to use a small amount to cleanse your skin of daily toxins and makeup. I find myself using a pea sized drop mixed with a few beads of water for a generous lather. If I’m wearing particularly heavy makeup for a shoot or a special occasion, I’ll repeat this step, but generally once is enough to leave my skin looking clean and hydrated.

Step 2: Soften & Moisturise

11853832_10154144608420616_798069113_n

I like to think of Shiseido’s Softener as a primer to help prep my skin for a softer feel and a deeper penetration of the moisturiser that follows.  According to Shiseido’s research, this formula helps strengthen skin to resist problems. For daywear, I use the Protective Moisturiser with it’s SPF15 formula, perfect for those scorching Queensland summers. The Refining Moisturiser is my night moisturiser as it renews the surface of skin, targets fine lines and leaves skin feeling dewy, rich and moist.

Step 3: Age Defence & Correcting

11874179_10154144619165616_1515926940_n

It might sound premature, but I’m concerned with my skin ageing quickly, given that it is so fair and susceptible to sun damage. In the last year, I’ve been switched onto Ultimune, Shiseido’s tested, age defence formula designed to stunt ageing and keep skin looking youthful and radiant. Applied directly after moisturising in the morning, Ultimune recharges skin with its soft, supple serum. Don’t be afraid to apply a little pressure with a massage, to really activate the formula and target stressed areas like your frown line, forehead, crows feet and the fleshy party of your cheeks. Lastly, target darker circles, wrinkles and puffy eyes with Shiseido’s Bio-Performance Super Corrective Eye Cream. Having used corrective eye creams from other brands in the past, I’ve experienced the worst, including sensitivity, inflammation and irritations, but with Shiseido’s gentle formula, my eye areas look refreshed, hydrated and lifted.

If I haven’t convinced you, I encourage you to visit Shiseido for a skin consultation and perhaps ask to sample the Ibuki skincare range. Otherwise, check out the website! Who knows, it could be the best thing you ever do for your skin!
