Cheers! Here’s to date night done right, feeling fabulous with a hint of sexy. It seems that first date drinks are quickly replacing the traditional dinner date, a transition I’m definitely partial to.  After all, a glass of bubbly certainly takes the edge off an awkward first encounter.

So, first things first, what does one wear to cheeky first date drinks? Playing the dating game myself, I’m all for helping out a sister! So here are my top 4 tips to styling a fabulous, (champagne friendly) first date outfit.

1. Like Paris, an LBD is always a good idea. Classic and understated, a little black dress will have you feeling fierce and sexy as you sip your cosmo. Not to mention, black is a slimming colour, so you’ll be your most confident you!

2. Put your best foot forward with a point. Point heels are very flattering, helping to extend the line of your leg and create the illusion of long, slim pins!

3. Show off a little sparkle. Other than your stellar personality, a little bit of bling shows you’re a girl with good taste.

4. Embrace your natural beauty. It’s no secret that men love natural beauty, so keep your makeup game as natural as possible. Think fresh dewy skin, slightly flushed cheeks, a soft lip and subtle highlighting for a little extra glow. Keep eyeliner to a minimum, and instead coat those lashes in luxe mascara. After all, it’s perfectly acceptable to bat those lashes at him!

Do you have a little style secret for a first date? I’de love to hear it first, so leave me a note below!

Kenzo Eyes T-shirt, Kenzo Eyes Skirt, Rubi Shoes Jamieson Lace Up Heels, Seed Heritage Fedora (similar style here), Pandora Starshine Stackable Ring, Pandora Starshine Solitaire Ring.

It’s a matter of all eyes on me (literally) as I style my new, cheeky Kenzo two piece, in a casual meets cool girl getup. From the very first moment I unwrapped this exciting parcel, I was instantly reminded of my 90’s childhood and how matching two pieces were seriously a thing, although back then they included some sort of frill, floral print or checkered motif. While they still create a strong, visual statement, matching sets should be styled thoughtfully, toeing the line between coordinated and cool. Presenting my Top 4 Tips to Styling A Matching Set.

1. Be loud and proud. You’ve already made the bold decision to pull of a matchy matchy look, so own it! Almost every time I have worn this two piece I have someone compliment the quirky eye print and ask me where it’s from. It just screams attention!

2. Choose accessories that complement the tone of your two piece. Quirky, mysterious and a little offbeat are the words I would use to describe this funky Kenzo print, so I’ve teamed this matching set with a fedora for a little extra edge.

3. Casual > formal footwear. There’s no room for stiletto’s in this cool girl getup, so instead I’m swapping a refined heel for a block sandal. Otherwise, a cute ankle boot could do the trick!

4. Relaxed hair has flair. If your vibing effortless, then nothing says undone like a quaff of relaxed waves. Remember updo’s add a formal element, so let that hair down girl and don’t forget to add a serum to your roots to banish flyaways!

Do you have your own tip for wearing a matching set? I would love to hear it in the comments below, or even link me to your styled two piece getup!

Oscars 2016 Best Dressed on the Red Carpet

alt="Oscars 2016 Best Dressed List Fashion"

Walking the red carpet in dreamy couture sounds pretty spectacular to us aspiring fashionista’s, but for the starlets, it’s just another day, another stretch of carpet. Just like years gone by, I find myself excited to see my favourite A-Listers arrive in style, and glimpse their custom couture for the first time. Here I present, my Oscars 2016 Best Dressed List, featuring only the most fabulous frocks (or in Lady Gaga’s case, jumpsuit!)

Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell

alt="Lady Gaga Oscars 2016"

If there’s one person that continues to shock me with her undeniable style revolution, it’s Lady Gaga. Looking incredibly chic in her structured Brandon Maxwell jumpsuit, Lady Gaga hits all the right notes on and off the red carpet.

Dorith Mous in Dennis Diem

alt="Dorith Mous Oscars 2016"

Dorith Mous strikes the perfect balance between elegant and edgy in her striking Dennis Diem gown. From the sophisticated high neck and lace bodice, to the full bodied tulle skirt, we can all agree that this particularly frock would outdo Cinderella’s custom creation. Glass slippers and all!

Rooney Mara in Versace

Looking dangerously angelic in a ornate, lace Versace gown, Rooney Mara made a stunning debut on the red carpet. Of course her sleek updo and bold kisser did not go unnoticed, creating a gorgeous contrast against her ivory gown.

Olivia Wilde in Valentino

alt="Olivia Wilde Oscars 2016"

Featuring a stunning low neckline and dreamy pleated skirt, Olivia Wilde was a vision in her Valentino couture. Her braided updo and minimalist makeup complemented this gown perfectly, while her jewelled clutch became the envy of every handbag enthusiast. Seriously, this is a need not want situation!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

Proof that this beauty can do no wrong on the red carpet, JLaw looks like Hollywood royalty in layers of lace and tulle, seen in her Dior Haute Couture. Sporting a sleek platinum bob and chic makeup, she totally nails old Hollywood glam!

Golden Globes 2016 Best Dressed List

<alt="Golden Globes Fashion 2016"

With the Golden Globes in full swing, Hollywood’s leading ladies are looking incredible in their couture and every bit the million dollar paycheque. From demure silhouettes to full scale sequins, watching these glam gowns walk the red carpet is my favourite part of the evening! Presenting my pick of the Golden Globes 2016 Best Dressed List.

Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana

Looking too perfect for words in her Dolce & Gabbana sequin emblazoned gown, Kate Bosworth emulates a modern day Evening Gown Barbie (in the best way possible). Highlighting the dress as her main feature, Kate styles a stunning drop earring with a sleek updo, hitting a sophisticated note.

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton

I’m loving the way this elegant Louis Vuitton gown falls gracefully, emphasising Alicia Vikander’s petite and feminine frame. Between the delicate fabric, demure high neck and cross over back, this dress is simply heavenly.

Giuliana Rancic in Alex Perry

Giuliana Rancic is spicing up the runway with this neon, cut-out Alex Perry number, which highlights her bronzed, flawless skin and toned bod. No doubt a flattering colour for this Italian beauty, but I’m captivated by what’s going on past the elbows.  I think we can all agree that if anyone can pull off a dramatic cape sleeve, then it’s definitely Giuliana! Not to mention it’s amazing to see our home grown talent, iconic Australian designer Alex Perry gracing the red carpet, alongside international designers.

Zendaya in Marchesa

Zendaya sports a seductive shade of burgundy, seen in her three tiered Marchesa couture. Featuring ornate structure and embroidered floral texture, I am loving how she has teamed this bold number with a glamourous drop earring and hollywood waves.

Lady Gaga in Versace

Channelling a cross between Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe with her timeless LBD and pin curled hairstyle, Lady Gaga made a grand entrance on the red carpet. I adore the silhouette of her custom Versace gown, which highlights a structured off the shoulder bodice, cinched waist and column skirt. Glam as ever Gaga!
